Althea Rose Forrest and Donna Marie Reid, better known as Althea & Donna, are a Jamaican reggae singing duo best known for their 1977 single, “Uptown Top Ranking”, which reached number 1 on the UK Charts on February 4, 1978. The song stayed on the charts for 11 weeks. “Uptown Top Ranking” was recorded when Althea and Donna were 17 and 18 years old respectively. They became the youngest female duo to reach number 1 on the UK Charts.
