Shanty are a seven piece reggae collective from northwest London; they describe their sound as ‘stomping bass, soulful hooks and party vibes’, with cross influences ranging from Soul, Electronic and Hip Hop embedded in their sound. New to the scene and making a significant impact after the release of their debut video, ‘Waiting’, Shanty’s third ever show was at last year’s Secret Garden Party and the following week they opened up the main stage at Leopallooza festival.

Keeping the momentum of their debut going, Shanty spent the rest of 2013 appearing at a number of UK festivals and filling out well known venues across the UK. The boys we’re playlisted in Gary Crowley’s show on BBC London as part of BBC Introducing.

2014 is set to be a big year for the band, with a vast amount of confirmed shows & summer festivals already under their belt, there is nothing slowing these boys down.

Shanty have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Bastille, The Skints, Neville Staple, Prince Fatty and MC Xander.
